In the children’s book, Pemba Sherpa by Olga Cossi taked me to a tour of his life. He is an old man and he is telling about his story when he was young. He told me that when he was a young boy he had to carry woods at six o’ clock moerrning to school. But his sister Yung Ki following so he ran but he fell to the landslide so his sister took a bamboo and saved him. She also took his bascket and carried wood with her so the boy was angry but also proud.
We are studying South Asia So we are reading about South Asia:Nepal Bangladesh.
We are learning about gender issues and in Nepal and Bangladesh and how the girls are told No! The girls were not allowed to work as a boy so it was not fair.
In my country Soth Korea, there was a lot of gender issues. The girls were not allowed to go outside without having blankets covering them.
To close, I am enjoying learning about the culture of the countries around me.
I hope womens are treated fairly in the future.
